Congratulations to the new December VIC State Champion winner Jay Little from Tabcorp Park, Melton. There was a total of 439 players APL player battling it out!
Jay entered the final table in pole position with 4.5million of the 15.3 million in chips tipped as favourite dominating each table he was moved to throughout the day!
He fell into a heads up scenario with Luigi who started the final table in third position. The chips had moved around quite a bit when they found themselves heads up. With Luigi climbing to the chip leader.
The tables turned dramatically when Luigi limped in as small blind with Pocket queens. The flop came 242 with both Jay and Luoigi checking it down to the river. Jay makes a cheap bet on the river to take it down, Luigi thought he trapped the Young man pushing all his chips in but Jay had a bigger trap holding a 2 giving him trips to absolutely cripple the poker veteran Luigi.
The following had Luigi had his big blind plus a single 25K chip just incase he wanted to fold for an everest climb back.
LAST HAND: Blinds were 250,000-500,000 Lugi had 525K in chips with Jay possessing the rest of the chips. Luigi was big blind and throws his final chip in as soon as the action was on him. The cards were in their back with Luigi slightly ahead with Qc 2h against Jays 8h 9c.
