Congratulations to Rick Thomas, of Toowoomba, who took out the October State Champs. Rick edged out Sudarshan “Sid” Bhandari of Ipswich and another 440 players at Eatons Hill Hotel.
Rick walked away with $5,020 cash and qualification into the 2020 APL Million after he and Sid decided on a split. Sid scored $4,900 and will also be heading to the APL Million at The Star Sydney in late February next year, along with the rest of the final table, who also scored tickets.
The APL Queensland team did an incredible job over the massive weekend of poker. An amazing 1,671 players were seated over 12 events, playing for a combined $101,020 prize pool! We couldn’t have done this without out loyal players and we thank you for your participation at our nightly and special events.
The next State Champs Pro Open weekend will be held on the weekend of January 17th to 19th at Southport Sharks. Good luck in qualifying.
