APLPT Albury Series, held from June 6th to June 11th, concluded with great success. The series boasted a substantial prize pool of $762,625 and featured 29 events over the span of six days, with buy-ins ranging from $80 to $2,500.
The event received coverage from Channel 7, and a video highlighting the tournament can be watched at https://youtu.be/oY38UTInHoU. Additionally, The Drinks With Jackson Podcast recorded an episode on-site at Commercial Club Albury, featuring APL's Benjamin Young and Tom Bower. They discussed various topics related to APL and the broader poker world, including the achievements of Australian players at the WSOP series in Las Vegas.
Albury proved to be a fantastic host for the series, surpassing last year's October series and exceeding the estimated prize pool of $750,000. We would like to thank the Commercial Club Albury for their amazing hospitality.
Looking ahead, APLPT Tasmania is the next stop on the tournament circuit, scheduled from June 22nd to June 25th. Furthermore, Albury will once again host APLPT in November, eagerly awaiting the return of familiar faces.
In the APLPT Albury Series, Aaron Suffield emerged as the champion in the Main Event, outlasting a field of 543 entries. Suffield's journey was remarkable, starting Day 2 with the 10th highest chip stack but entering the Final Table as the second shortest. His comeback demonstrated the unpredictable nature of poker, culminating in an impressive victory. Suffield claimed a prize of $16,630, along with a $1,500 APL Million Seat and a $100K Invitational Seat.
The Jackstar Super High Roller event saw the rise of a star in Jack Erdeljac, who showcased consistent performance throughout the series. With victories in the One-Shot Freezeout and the Jackstar Super High Roller, along with a third-place finish in The Centurion, Erdeljac earned over $70,000 in prize money. His infectious smile and undeniable skill drew support from the rail as he navigated the Final Table with a shorter stack, ultimately securing the win. Erdeljac's triumph earned him $55,040 and a $100K Invitational Seat.
The APLPT Albury Series was undoubtedly a memorable and successful poker event, leaving participants and organisers eagerly anticipating future tournaments in the APLPT circuit.
